Hands-on Impressions of Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate From PAX South 2015 | Entertainment Buddha

EB's Matt Heywood writes, "Id like to preface this hands-on preview by saying I have never played a Monster Hunter game up until this point in my life, but after playing Monster Hunter 4 with three other gamers Im sold on the franchise and cant wait to take the fourth iteration for an extended spin on February 13, 2015. Due to my inexperience with the franchise youll also have to excuse my lack knowledge with its inner-workings, but luckily for other Monster Hunter noobs, MH4 is quite easy to pick up and play, so itll be a good place to dive into the franchise if youre looking for a new 3DS title."

Nintendo Shows Off Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate's Story and Fan Reactions

Added: 26.01.2015 6:10 | 6 views | 0 comments

NLife: "In terms of big days for the 3DS, we're not sure it's ever had a date quite like 13th February this year. That day will see new hardware with the New Nintendo 3DS, The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask 3D and, last but certainly not least, Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate. We hope that Capcom's latest monster slaying adventure won't be overshadowed or lost in the shuffle, as we've been rather impressed in our time with it so far. Nintendo UK is doing its bit to build hype for the long-awaited title, releasing two videos from a recent London event. First of all we have a video with series executive producer Ryozo Tsujimoto highlighting the story campaign, while the second is all about fans reacting to some playtime with the game."

Following up on the successes of MH3U, Capcom have been careful not to fix what isn't broken, and instead have tweaked the controls, the graphics and the gameplay to a finely tuned level, before adding in a gutload of new content. Monster Hunter games have always been huge, and this is by far the biggest yet. The story is a little weak, but it's not what the game is really about, and MH4U really shines in multiplayer, and with the added functionality of being able to go online, there's no excuse not to party up and go hunting. There is a humongous amount of content on offer here, but it does require some dedication to get into if you're not a returning Hunter, and that can put a lot of people off. If you're willing to wade through the tutorials, you'll find this beast of a game will keep you going for - literally - months, if not years.
